1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Trip Planner ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Trip Planner is a travel planning application that allows users to create itineraries, track expenses, brainstorm ideas, and collaborate with travel companions. The App is available on Android devices and via web browsers.

3. User Accounts and Identification

The App uses device-based identification through a unique identifier (UUID) stored on your device. No personal accounts, email addresses, or passwords are required. Your device ID is used solely to associate you with shared trips and collaborative features.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create within the App, including trip itineraries, ideas, notes, and expense data. By using the sharing features, you grant other users you share with the ability to view and, where permitted, edit shared trip content.

You agree not to use the App to:

• Upload or share content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service
• Use the App for any unauthorized commercial purpose
• Attempt to access data belonging to other users without authorization

5. Trip Sharing and Collaboration

When you share a trip, a unique share code is generated. Anyone with this code can join the trip. You are responsible for sharing codes only with intended recipients. As a trip host, you can manage member permissions and remove members at any time.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services to provide certain features:

• Google Maps/Directions API — for travel time estimates between locations. Use of this data is subject to Google's Terms of Service.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content provided by third-party services.

7. Data Storage

Trip data is primarily stored locally on your device. Shared trip data and collaborative features (ideas, voting) are stored on our servers. We take reasonable measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

8. Availability and Changes

We strive to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, update, or discontinue features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

9. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Loss of trip data or itinerary information
• Inaccurate travel time estimates or directions
• Issues with third-party services
• Any costs or expenses incurred based on information in the App

10. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, code, and branding are the intellectual property of the Trip Planner team. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the App.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the App for users who violate these terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
